I help entrepreneurs communicate with clarity and confidence
14 years coaching Hong Kong business owners to master the conversations that matter most — from boardroom negotiations to difficult stakeholder discussions.
How I Got Here
I spent seven years in corporate HR at a multinational financial services firm in Central. Good pay, decent benefits, the whole package. But I kept noticing something that bothered me — the training programs we ran were generic. Totally disconnected from what our actual employees faced.
That frustration hit harder when I started coaching on the side. I’d work with Hong Kong entrepreneurs and realized they were dealing with problems that standard business communication courses didn’t address. Cross-cultural negotiations. Making rapid decisions under pressure. Building credibility with international partners when you’re a first-time founder.
So in 2015, I left corporate life and started my own practice. The real breakthrough came when I developed a communication framework specifically for the Kowloon business context. Not theory borrowed from American business schools — actual strategies that work for the way Hong Kong companies operate. That’s what caught the attention of Articulate Growth Limited, and it’s what drives my work every single day.

Core Areas of Expertise
Communication isn’t about technique — it’s about understanding yourself and connecting authentically with others.
Executive Communication
How to present ideas with authority. How to influence senior stakeholders. How to communicate vision without sounding rehearsed. These aren’t small skills — they’re the difference between being overlooked and being heard.
Negotiation & Persuasion
Getting to yes doesn’t mean being pushy. It means understanding what the other person actually needs. We work on reading the room, building leverage through rapport, and walking away from bad deals without burning bridges.
Active Listening
Most people listen to respond, not to understand. We break that habit. When you actually listen to what someone’s saying — the words and the subtext — everything changes. Conversations become real. Trust builds faster.
Stakeholder Management
You’re juggling investors, employees, partners, clients. Each group needs a different conversation. We develop frameworks for managing those relationships without being fake — authenticity at scale.
High-Pressure Communication
Crisis situations. Tough conversations. Disagreements that matter. Your communication patterns show up under pressure. We train you to stay clear and grounded when stakes are highest.
Cross-Cultural Communication
Hong Kong business spans East and West. Cultural differences aren’t obstacles — they’re opportunities if you navigate them right. We focus on building bridges without losing your authentic voice.
What I Believe About Communication
Communication is often the overlooked foundation of sustainable business growth. You can have a great product and solid strategy, but if you can’t articulate your vision, build trust with your team, or negotiate effectively with partners, growth stalls. I’m driven by seeing entrepreneurs move from just surviving conversations to genuinely commanding them.
Psychology First
Communication isn’t about tricks or hacks. It’s rooted in how people think, what builds trust, what creates defensiveness. My background in psychology means we understand the why behind everything we practice.
Context Matters
Generic communication advice doesn’t work for Hong Kong entrepreneurs. We build strategies tailored to your industry, your stakeholders, your specific challenges. What works for a fintech founder is different from what works for a manufacturing business.
Authenticity Over Performance
You’re not learning to perform. You’re learning to communicate more effectively as yourself. The best communicators aren’t polished actors — they’re genuine people who’ve learned to be clear about what matters.
Practical, Not Theoretical
Everything we work on applies immediately. You’ll practice real conversations, get feedback on actual communication patterns, and walk away with strategies you can use Monday morning.
What Entrepreneurs Have Learned
“I wasn’t confident presenting to investors before working with Marcus. After six months, I’ve pitched to three firms and got serious interest from two of them. The difference wasn’t just what I said — it was how I said it. He helped me understand my own communication patterns and fix them.”
“Our team was falling apart because communication had broken down between departments. Marcus came in and didn’t give us corporate fluff — he diagnosed actual problems in how we were talking to each other and we fixed them. Within weeks, things were noticeably better.”
“Honestly, I was skeptical about coaching. But Marcus doesn’t waste time. He identified that I was defensive in negotiations and showed me why. Once I understood my own pattern, I could change it. Made a huge difference in a recent partnership discussion.”

Active Listening Transforms Everything
Most people listen to respond. We listen to understand. It’s a small shift that completely changes how people perceive you.
